At long last, it appears that people are beginning to wake up to the concept of what constitutes value or not, as the case may be. I read the other day that, on analysing the travel insurance policies on comparison web sites (many of which are offered cheaply) many have such high excess payments as to render the policy worthless in the event of a claim.
So how does that compare to divorce and family law solicitor services?
Some of our colleagues in London pride themselves on going to the other extreme by not accepting potential clients unless they have significant assets or income. Does this make them better lawyers?
Maybe, or, maybe not. However, what is abundantly clear from the people we have helped out is that where there is anything other than a straight forward divorce, many online cheap deals do not give what most need when going through such a life–changing event. And the simple fact is that if you want value, you have to pay for it.
Divorce, separation and children issues are life–changing events. Entering into this arena is going to affect you and your family. So, what you perceive to be value will matter in the long term. I would suggest that in this instance, cheap may not turn out to be cheerful in the long run.
